Nordens arktiske klima gir maten et særegent preg, som vi kan bli langt flinkere til å utnytte både gastronomisk og kommersielt. Dette var hovedbudskapet på Nordic Terroir Workshop 2009, som fant sted på Ås sist uke. Kurset samlet rundt 80 deltakere og ble arrangert av Nofima Mat, i samarbeid med Nordisk InnovationsCenter, ID-Norfood og Ny Nordisk Mat.

Described as "Mr. Strategy" worldwide, Dr. Kenichi Ohmae is regularly sought out as a public speaker and management consultant. Ohmae, according to the Financial Times of London, is "Japan‘s only management guru." In 1994, The Economist selected him one of five management gurus in the world. Dr. Ohmae is keynote speaker at the conference "Innovation and Prosperity in the Baltic Sea Region - New tools for transnational collaboration", 7 May 2009 in Copenhagen.

In the Nordic countries, the food industry is of significant importance to the economies. Functional food has previously emerged as a mega trend in the food market; in fact it was one of the fastest growing food segments in 2005. From 2006 to 2009, Nordic Innovation Centre financed six projects with the common goal to support the Nordic food industry in becoming more innovative and competitive in the functional food market. Their main results are presented here in brief in a Nordic Innovation Centre synthesis report. |
