Call for proposals: Healthier choices will be easier available for all

“What can be done in order to bring the Nordic countries closer to solutions on what works and what does not, in preventing overweight and obesity and promoting physical activity for some specific vulnerable group such as children and youth/and or ethnic minorities? This is the overall goal of the call for expressions of interest.

New Nordic funding programme to stimulate innovative tourism products and services

The Nordic tourism sector has strong potential for further innovation and development. Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe) introduces a new focus area and funding programme: “Innovation in the Nordic Tourism Sector – New Products and Services”. NICe invites small and medium sized companies, and other relevant actors, to apply for funding of co-operative tourism innovation projects. The proposals should primarily focus on the development of innovative products, services and concepts to accelerate the Nordic tourism sector.

Call for proposals – Sustainable Renovation

A joint call for proposals within the theme of “Sustainable Renovation” will be launched in spring 2008. The call is launched by funding organisations from Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Nordic Innovation Centre. The funding organisations include former ERABUILD-partners.

On behalf of the Swedish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe) hereby invites Nordic stakeholders from the Creative Industries to a seminar on 9 May, in Stockholm at Swedish Institute for Computer Science, SICS. The objective of the seminar is to present the current status of the Nordic Creative Industries, its potentials and challenges in a global context.

Ny konstituert direktør og kommunikasjonssjef i NICe

Ivar Kristensen er fra 1.april i år konstituert som administrerende direktør i Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe). Kristensen er administrasjonssjef i NICe, og har arbeidet i it-bransjen før han begynte i NICe. Fra samme dato er Melita Ringvold Hasle tilsatt som ny kommunikasjonssjef ved senteret. Hasle kommer fra stillingen som senior kommunikasjonsrådgiver i Samferdselsdepartementet i Norge. Hun har tidligere jobbet som medierådgiver i NVE og journalist.

Innovation systems in Nordic tourism

This joint Nordic research project, with participants from all five Nordic countries, details 10 case studies of tourism enterprises, two in each country, in order to establish the driving forces of innovation in a growing service sector industry. The research findings will provide the foundations for alternative public policy that will facilitate growth in tourism.

Clean Nordic and Baltic sky - Feasibility study

Demand for air travel is growing rapidly. Shortfalls in capacity and other constraints on the efficiency of airports and aircraft operations have negatively impacted the environment. The need to enhance efficiency without increase in emissions, within finite airspace and airport resources while still ensuring high levels of safety, has grown considerably. This feasibility study is the first initiative for co-operation between air navigation service providers (ANSP), airports, airline companies and industry.

Many of the most successful products and concepts in the healthy nutrition business worldwide have been brought to market by fairly small companies. In general, little is known about Nordic SMEs active in functional foods and health ingredients. This project has worked with the commercialization challenges small and medium sized companies (SMEs) face in the area of nutrition and health.

Nice Travel

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and Biometric Solutions will during the next 5-years enable substantial improvements to the logistic, the security and the passenger processes at the airports. The project "Nice Travel" has focused on the opportunities and challenges facing airports, airlines and service providers with regard to the new Auto-ID-technologies.

A Creative Economy Green Paper for the Nordic Region

The objective of this Green Paper is to open up a policy debate about the drivers of the Creative Industries in the Nordic region, and to understand the opportunities and challenges facing the sector. It is designed to help policy-makers from the local to national level recognize the potential – and seriousness – of the Creative Economy; and identify ways to support the Creative Industries in a more coordinated, connected way.
