Visit the Region’s Largest Nanotechnology Event

Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe) and several Nordic projects funded by NICe will participate at the largest nanotechnology event in our region, the Nanotech Northern Europe 2007 Congress & Exhibition, which takes place in Helsinki, 27-29 March 2007.

The Nanotech Northern Europe 2007 congress has already registered participants from 34 countries, and over 200 companies exhibit in the combined Nanotech/ChemBio exhibition, providing combined overview of nanotechnology, chemistry and biotechnology. NTNE2007 is also an official China-EU Science & Technology Year Event.

Keynote speakers include Professor Shuji Nakamura (UC Santa Barbara), winner of the 2006 Millennium Technology Prize, the 2005 Japan Prize winner Professor Erkki Ruoslahti (Burnham Institute, CA), and Dr Tapani Ryhänen, Head of Nanosciences Laboratory, Nokia Research Center.

The main themes of the congress cover new solutions in nanoelectronics and nanophotonics, nanotechnology instruments and tools, nanomaterials and particles, and nanobiotechnology and diagnostics. The event aims to accelerate development from scientific research into industrial processes and consumer goods.

New partnering program
Meet potential partners for innovation projects. A number of special sessions are dedicated to partnering, focusing e.g. on the EU’s 7th Framework Programme Seven and technology transfer.

Nordic Innovation Centre projects from the Nordic MINT initiative have one dedicated session in the program. A NICe representative will also be present at the Congress Opening as participant in the panel, alongside high international and Finnish profiles from business and politics, discussing the subject ”Visions 2007 – Venture the new, face the future”.

Registered congress participants can reserve a poster stand to promote their organisation’s capabilities and the type of partner or project that they are looking for.
